Hello friends,

The North Star Health Collective
(http://northstarhealth.wordpress.com/about-us/) is preparing to act as
street medics during the RNC protests in September. We are looking for
people ready and willing to be Trans Health Advocates during any or all
of the RNC.

The role of a trans health advocate would be to assist in any situation
that may arise that would require someone have knowledge about
trans-specific health issues in order to advocate for the needs of a
non-normatively gendered person in a situation where they are denied
agency. During the RNC protests this role may be needed in many situations:
as it applies to clinics and wellness spaces, hospitals, jails, etc.

Prefered Qualifications (and if you are really strong in one area and not
so much in another please don’t let that stop you!):

*Knowledge of trans-related issues and rights in hospitals and other
medical institutions
*Knowledge of trans-related issues and rights in
arrests, jails, and other legal situations
*Ability to give advice or
potentially lead a training for medics, legal observers, and/or jail
support
*Will be available to respond to emergency situations September
1st-4th
