We just wanted to let you guys know that we have formed a Bash Back chapter in Eugene OR and we are putting on an alternative to Eugene Pride called QueerFest (didn’t have time to think of a better name). In any event here is our blog http://queerfest.wordpress.com/

Contact should probably be updated. I think there’s now 19 chapters.

Separate from 19 chapters though, what is BB! doing though. These actions are fun, important, necessary but not sustainable, not collective and not goal-oriented. Random confrontations with HRC and random hijacks of Pride marches/parade are good but towards a more long-term goal.

ARA had a high peak at one point. But due to no collective goals and random attacks on Nazis, Anti-Semitics and Anti-Immigration people they lost numbers, chapters and a serious threat to the white power groups.

Just saying…

Bash Back! is not an “organization.” There is no platform, no national campaigns, and no long term internal goals. Bash Back! is a name that anyone agreeing with the points of unity can use. If you want to be part of an organization that doesnt have the problem of being, “not sustainable, not collective, and not goal-oriented…” …fantastic, start one. Bash Back! is not and was never meant to be a vanguard for radical queer resistance. It is a small piece of the sweet cherry liberation pie.

Well I can’t speak for other chapters; but we at BB! Memphis have a safehouse set up for homeless queer/trans folks, sex workers, and runaway queer/trans youth.

BB! is whatever you MAKE IT.

I encourage you to start chapter number 20 and make it as “goal-oriented” as you’d like.
